My children had their Spring Fling at their elementary school yesterday. What fun! They got to play games, do a bouncy obstacle course, walk on stilts and win prizes.
One thing they had was a silent auction. And in the auction you could bid on a date with your teacher. Well, my James had his heart set on winning a date with his very favorite Mrs. T. There was one bid for $25 and we put in a bid for $40. And the whole time we were there he stayed the highest bidder.
We also bid on a HUGE game basket filled with lots of family games and snacks. The bidding was going back and forth so, as the last minute was called, we stayed by the game basket to make sure we won. And we did!
But in the last minute someone outbid my James. So sad! He was very upset about this and talked about it for the rest of the afternoon. It was just so sweet that he wanted to use his money to do this and that he wanted to spend an extra afternoon just hanging out and doing something fun with his teacher. What a sweet boy! I know Mrs. T will still do something special for him but it would have been fun for him if he had won. Shucks!
At least we have something to help take his mind off of it....
