Kaylee had to have her FOURTH set of tubes put in on Monday morning. This was our first surgery in Colorado and at the Denver Children's Hospital. It was a wonderful experience and probably the the most efficient surgery we have ever had. The nurses, doctors, anesthesiologists...they were all fabulous! What a blessing because they all helped the day go as smooth as possible.
Kaylee always has a rough time waking up from surgery and this time was no different. She tossed and turned and cried for 45 minutes. It's the saddest thing to see such a strong child get so knocked off her feet. I prayed over her and God was so gracious and brought my strong girl back to me. So strong and well that when we left she ate a bag of Fritos in the car and then stopped at Chick-fil-a to eat a chicken sandwich, french fries, brownie and a coke!! What a trooper she is.
Kaylee is doing drops in her ears for the rest of this week and then it's a waiting game until we go back to the doctor's in three weeks time. They removed a lot of scar tissue and replaced the tubes that were not working with brand new tubes. Her hearing was just below normal at the last appointment so we are praying for right at normal at the next one...but if God wants to surprise us with WAY ABOVE normal, we'ld be alright with that too!
Kaylee has had a tough time with her ears. But we are so thankful that we have always had wonderful doctors to care for her and that they have been given the wisdom and talent to keep her from losing her hearing more than she has. We do ask for your prayers that her ears will stay healthy and that this would be her last set of tubes.
Thank you for all of the well wishes and love and prayers that were sent our way this week. We are forever grateful for the wonderful family and friends that we have been blessed with. You truly fill our hearts with joy!

Way to go Kaylee, no doubt that she would come through with flying colors. And we will be keeping her in our prayers (as always) that her hearing has improved and that there would be no complications/residual effects from these tubes and that they would work as they should!
Hey Krista, I had no idea Kaylee was having a big surgery...I'm so sorry! I'm sure you were wondering why you hadn't heard from me! I'm so glad to hear that all went well and that our Kaylee was a trooper as per usual :)
Hugs and kisses to you all xoxo
